PRIVACY POLICY
RAM Law Firm, PLLC (“RAM Law,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Texas professional limited liability company and law firm. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website and any page that links to this policy (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. Please read it before you submit information to us.
This policy applies only to information collected through the Site. It does not apply to information we collect offline, to information governed by an engagement agreement once you become a client, or to any third-party website we link to.
- No Attorney-Client Relationship; Do Not Send Confidential Information
Using this Site, submitting a form, calling us, or emailing us does not create an attorney-client relationship. No attorney-client relationship is formed until we have checked for conflicts of interest and you and RAM Law have signed a written engagement agreement.
Because no relationship exists yet, information you send through the Site may not be protected by the attorney-client privilege. Please send only the basic information needed for us to contact you and identify the type of matter. Do not send case documents, passports, A-numbers, government-issued identification, financial records, or details about a criminal, immigration, or other sensitive history through this Site. If we open a matter for you, we will give you a secure method to send those materials.
- Information We Collect
- Information you give us. When you complete a contact or consultation request form, call a number listed on the Site, or email us, we collect the information you choose to provide, which typically includes your name, email address, telephone number, the service or practice area you select, and any message you write.
- Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider and website software automatically log technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. We use this data for security, troubleshooting, and understanding general Site usage.
- Cookies, analytics and similar technologies. The Site uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Site to function. We may also use analytics services that collect information about how visitors use the Site, such as pages viewed and time spent, so that we can improve it. Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through your browser settings. Some features of the Site may not work properly if you do.
- Embedded third-party content. Pages on the Site may load fonts, maps, scheduling tools, videos, or social media content hosted by third parties. Those providers may receive your IP address and basic device information when the content loads. Their own privacy policies govern that collection.
- Sensitive Information
Information about a person’s citizenship or immigration status is treated as sensitive personal data under Texas law. We ask you not to submit that information through the Site. If you submit it voluntarily, we will treat it as confidential and use it only to evaluate and respond to your inquiry, and by submitting it you consent to our processing it for that purpose. We do not sell sensitive personal data, and we do not sell biometric data.
- How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- respond to your inquiry, schedule a consultation, and communicate with you;
- run conflicts-of-interest checks and decide whether we can accept a matter;
- provide legal services and administer our client relationships;
- operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Site;
- send you firm updates or information about our services where you have asked to receive them or where permitted by law (you may opt out at any time); and
- comply with our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations.
- How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers. With vendors that host our website, deliver our email, manage our client and matter records, process payments, and provide similar support services, in each case so they can perform services for us.
- Professional and legal requirements. With courts, government agencies, opposing parties, co-counsel, or others where necessary to provide the services you request, to comply with law, subpoena, or court order, or to enforce our agreements.
- Protection of rights. Where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of RAM Law, our clients, or others, or to investigate fraud or a security incident.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, reorganization, or sale of the firm’s assets, subject to our professional obligations of confidentiality.
- Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we hold. No website, email system, or method of transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send us over the internet. Email and web form submissions are not encrypted end-to-end. Any transmission is at your own risk.
- How Long We Keep Information
We keep inquiry information for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to you, to document conflicts checks and declined matters, and to comply with our legal, professional, and recordkeeping obligations. Client files are retained in accordance with our engagement agreement and applicable Texas record-retention requirements.
- Children
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 through the Site. If you believe a minor has provided us information through the Site, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.
- Your Choices and Rights
- Marketing communications. You may opt out of firm marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us. We will still send you messages about a matter we are handling for you.
- Calls and text messages. If you give us your telephone number, you agree that we may contact you by call or text about your inquiry. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts.
- You can control cookies through your browser settings.
- State privacy rights. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to confirm whether we process your personal data and to request access to, correction of, or deletion of that data, and to appeal a denial of your request. Some rights do not apply to information we hold as part of a legal matter or that we must retain by law or professional rule. To make a request, email us at contact@ramlawfirm.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity before responding.
- Visitors Outside the United States
RAM Law is located in Texas, and our Site and systems are hosted in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. By submitting information to us, you consent to that transfer.
- Third-Party Links
The Site links to third-party websites and social media pages that we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, and this policy does not apply to them.
